Daniel Poissant

Daniel Poissant is an active performer, composer, and educator currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He holds a B.A. in Music from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Master’s in Piano Performance from the Fontys Conservatory of Music in Tilburg, Netherlands.

While studying abroad, Daniel performed in solo recitals, chamber concerts, and festivals across the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, and Finland. He premiered his Master’s thesis composition, Lucid, at the historic Castletown House in Celbridge, Ireland, and later presented the piece in a lecture recital at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences in Oulu, Finland. He remains an active performer, frequently playing in musicals and with the Raleigh Symphony’s Chamber Players.

As a teacher, Daniel finds great joy in sharing his knowledge and expertise with his students. With over six years of teaching experience, Daniel has worked with students ages 5 to 60, each with unique personalities, interests, and goals. He greatly enjoys connecting with students at their level and guiding them to reach their full musical potential. Daniel’s students have won top prizes in competitions, earned high scores at the NCMTA piano festival, and conquered musical challenges they once thought impossible. In his lessons, Daniel teaches the fundamentals of piano playing, including technique, music theory, and expression, and provides valuable methods for practicing efficiently at home.
